Katherine Graham Pearson - A Quiet Strength, A Steady Flame
Family profile adapted from the memories of loved ones

Great Niece
Katherine Graham Pearson, affectionately known to many as “Aunt Kat,” was born Tuesday, February 28, 1922—the tenth of twelve children born to Mack and Ada Graham. She grew up in the quiet strength of her family’s values and carried that same spirit into every chapter of her life.
She married Alexander Pearson, and while they had no children together, she embraced his three children—Ollie Pearson, Katheryn Jackson, and Judith Jackson—as part of her extended family. Though she did not raise them directly, they each respected her deeply as their stepmother and held her in warm regard.
Aunt Kat was known for her loyalty and commitment, particularly through her long-time work with the Lanier family—whom she served faithfully for many years. The bonds she formed with the Lanier girls lasted a lifetime, continuing well into her later years, which speaks volumes about her gentle nature and capacity to form meaningful, enduring relationships.
She was a devoted member of Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church and remained steadfast in her faith throughout her life. Her spiritual walk was lived quietly, yet consistently—an anchor for those who knew her.
Though she lived far from much of the family in her later years, someone from the Graham family was present at her funeral to honor her life and her connection to us. Her presence may have been distant in miles, but it remained close in spirit.
Katherine Graham Pearson lived a life of calm dignity, quiet devotion, and unwavering presence. She may not have had children of her own, but the family she came from—and the family she joined—remembers her with honor and heartfelt gratitude.
